Prof. Dr. Md. Robiul Awall, Professor of Department of Civil Engineering and Director of Students’ Welfare (DSW) of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), has been joined as new departmental head of Building Engineering & Construction Management (BECM) on March 14, 2020.
“We are extremely delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Md. Robiul Awall to the Department of Building Engineering & Construction Management (BECM) as his vision, leadership skills, scholarly excellence, outstanding research profile make him a marvelous leader to lead our department” said the current teachers of BECM. After graduating from RUET in 2002, Prof. Awall joined Department of Civil Engineering, RUET as a Lecturer. He was awarded Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarship in 2006 to undertake his MSc Engineering degree in Structural Engineering from Saitama University, Japan. Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) took him to undertake doctoral studies in Hokkaido University, Japan in 2009 which afterwards awarded him with a PhD degree in 2012.
As a pioneer in the fields of structural engineering, Prof. Dr. Awall mainly fixes his attention on Structural Mechanics, Structural Dynamics & Control, Earthquake Engineering, Structural Strengthening and Rehabilitation, Behavior of multistoried framed buildings under dynamic loading, Bridge Engineering and Wind Engineering. Dr. Awall also maintains close collaboration with various professional bodies and strives to contribute towards improvement of professional qualities of individual and professional bodies as well.
